It’s so heartening to meet people who really care where their food comes from. Mr Sunshine Coast Foodie Martin Duncan has always aimed to connect people through food and so when he approached us to run a showcase luncheon in the hayshed at Kandanga Farm (that could be open to the general public – different to the industry events held in the past) of course we said YES! This time Jodie Williams from Black Ant Gourmet at Kin Kin took charge of the menu and sourced her produce from local producers including Kandanga Farm (K2BEEF), Red Earth Farmers at Amamoor (Greens), Forage Farms (eggs) plus other members of the Mary Valley Country Harvest Cooperative and Country Noosa. We were even able to end the event with locally grown coffee from Noosa Black.

The atmosphere was warm and positive – we loved seeing our wonderful farmers chat about what they do to people who really wanted to know. We loved sitting down to eat with everyone and to see the enjoyment that good food, prepared simply and shared with each other can bring. So looking forward to more Farm to Fork events in the future but of course at the Kandanga Farm Store every week you can eat local at Kandanga Kitchen whose menu is shaped by what is in season right now, right here in the Mary Valley. Its fresh, delicious and we know exactly where it has come from!.
