Opportunities

At Kandanga Farm Store we understand that many careers are about specialisation; but in our small business we seek diversity and lateral thinking.
As we continue to grow the tasks that need to be done are getting beyond our current capacity and we are always on the look out for new energy and skills to build our small, multi-tasking, dynamic, values-driven team.
If you have demonstrated skills and qualifications that could help and have a passion for others and want to be part of an ever evolving business that is forging new
paths in creating a better food system, please forward a written application  along with a current CV to info 'at' kandangafarmstore.com.au

Cook!

Love to cook using fresh seasonal ingredients? We are looking for a self-starting, creative dynamo that does not cut corners when it comes to using quality ingredients and lives to create simple, nourishing and tasty dishes and treats. No seed oils,  artificial anythings or pre-made meal bases allowed. Thursday hours prepping for Friday opening. Send us an email via contact form or phone us to talk more.

Garden Guru needed!

We need help keeping our yard in order. We dont use poisons so the work is manual - mowing, whipper snipping, mulching etc. We would love to see the gardens thriving so some skills in planting out and maintaining the garden beds (including the veg plot) would be very desirable. Some general tidy up and maintenance also. More hours in summer, easing over the non growing winter period. Contact us for more details.

INTERNSHIPS

Learn and contribute to a business “walking the talk”.

This is a unique opportunity to combine many rural internships into one. You will become integral to daily operations across our grassfed beef cattle farms using management software to track operations including (often) daily cattle moves. You will learn to handle herds of cattle with LSS techniques, you’ll be responsible for electric fencing, waters (including solar pumping maintenance), mineral trailers, organic parasite management and homeopathics for your cattle.

You’ll have infrastructure and revegetation projects to plan including NSF contouring and Syntropics plantings and projects to execute on farm. You will also then be involved in a vertically integrated beef business to understand all aspects of Pasture fed, Organic production from Conception to Consumption.

Unlike other internships, the Farm Store adds another dimension as this upstream retail business is the first of its type to operate soley in the Organic and Regenerative farm input supply space. Want more? The farm store encompasses a large commercial kitchen and events / dining area where hospitality and food value-adding opportunities can be explored at the numerous training and food events we host.

This is NOT a paid position and the minimum commitment is 3-months. Full-time food and board including all gas & electricity with healthy Organic produce and groceries will be provided along with training and practical skills development in exchange for 6 hours per day 5 days per week (30 hours per week). In addition you’ll be expected to maintain your own (shared) farmhouse and garden. Other interns and staff may share the residence and household tasks, or you may have the place to yourself.

Enjoy being close to nature with forest walking tracks close-by, creeks and rivers a plenty and amenities like a public swimming pool, pub and small shops within walking distance of farms. You’ll be supplied a work vehicle however it is farm registered so trips to the Beach (Noosa) are better taken via the Sun Bus service.

Interns must be accountable and self-motivated, computer literate, proactive and interested in natural systems. At times you will work as part of a team and at times alone. Tasks are varied and pursuing related projects within our context is encouraged.

Smokers and Vegans cannot be accommodated.
